St. Tropez, Daaarlings!

I have always wanted to visit Saint Tropez. I imagined it to be hot and sunny, filled with immaculately dressed people and beautiful shops and restaurants. It's nice to be able to see that it actually met my expectations. It was an amazing place to explore and an even more exciting place to capture with my camera. The highlight had to be walking down a long sunny street with all of the extravagant designer shops lining the sides. Dior. Dolce and Gabbana. Louie Vuitton. I could go on.The picture above is the Dior restaurant that I passed. Before my trip, I didn't know that a Dior restaurant even existed. It was one of the most beautiful restaurants I've seen (like something from a movie, set in the twenties) and part of me was desperate to stroll in and order myself a glass of champagne but I didn't feel dressed for the occasion, nor did I have the money to justify it. Below is the outfit I wore (Skirt - Next, Flip flops - Havaianas, Blouse - H&M, Hat - H&M, Bag - H&M, Sunnies - H&M). I needed something cool to wear as the temperature was creeping just over the 30 degree mark that day and the only place to escape the sun was in an overpriced restaurant or bar.
I saw this dress in a D&G campaign in my ELLE magazine and then spotted it while strolling around the shops in St. Tropez. The moment I saw it, I was mesmerised. I love the rich red colour and couldn't take my eyes away from the outstanding detail. I rarely see something I like this much so seeing it in the flesh was really exciting for me and so I obviously had to take a photo of it to share with you guys! Anyway, here are a few more photos of my trip to St. Tropez. These were taken on the boat trip we took around the harbour.
It's really strange looking back at these photos. Especially as in a few days I head back to uni and have to leave my family again. It's nice to know I've spent some quality time with them all and even nicer having these pictures to remind me of that.
Let me know your thoughts on anything and everything to do with this post!

Shopping Trip: Oxford Street, London

Plus size blogging, fashion, Topshop, Evans, Yo Sushi, Newlook, London, Oxford Street, Regent Street, Selfridges

Plus size blogging, fashion, Topshop, Evans, Yo Sushi, Newlook, London, Oxford Street, Regent Street, Selfridges, Miu Miu

The pictures above are ones I took on my phone while I was out shopping in London yesterday (hence the terrible quality). We caught the tube to Marble Arch and made our way down towards Oxford Circus and Regent Street and spent the whole day shopping and stopping for, much deserved, coffee breaks!

The photos below are of the things I bought that I thought I'd share with you...

Necklace - Newlook £7.99
Bobbi Brown brush and eye liner - Selfridges - Brush  - £22, Eye Liner - £17.50
Liquid Eyeliner - Steel Ink 31
Nail Varnish - Topshop- £5
Bag full of underwear - Marks - £10
Denim skater skirt - Newlook - £14.99
So my sister got back from Australia two weeks ago. It's been really nice just going shopping, out for meals and just generally hanging out with her again. She was also kind enough to buy me the Bobbi Brown eye liner and brush, as a very early Christmas present, which I picked out, and had put on me by a make up artist, in Selfridges. I was nearly as happy with the iconic yellow Selfridges bag as I was with the beautiful make up! I had such a great day in London yesterday although the shops didn't blow me away and I would have liked to have bought more (seen as though most of these places were the UK flagship stores, they should've been a lot better). Besides a few hiccups, the company was great and I love love love the things I bought/ was given!

What do you think of my shopping?
Where's your favourite place to shop in London?

Also, I have recently been featured on A Place on the Bookshelf if you want to check out the interview. The girl behind the blog, Charl, will be featured in a guest post on my blog later this week so keep an eye out!

Today I'm wearing: The Biker Jacket.

You know, I drive myself crazy. I love doing outfit posts for so many reasons. One, it freaks me out because it pushes me out of my comfort zone (which can only be a good thing). Secondly, it shows people what my actual style is like. Thirdly, I really enjoy looking through my old posts and seeing how my fashion has changed over the last three years.

Now back to my outfit, I wanted to show you guys my new biker jacket. It's from Newlook and although I have had it for a month, I have only started to actually wear it in the last two weeks. I love floral and leather together and was really excited to team my new(ish) Primark skirt with this biker. I also added in my new spiky necklace which I love. Statement jewellery seems to transfer an outfit from being cool to fashionable, don't you think? Take the necklace away from this outfit and it's suddenly very casual. I also decided that based on my last post about S/S 2013 trends[click here to check it out], I would try out the Triple Threat! trend by mixing up styles and being experimental.

So for a little catch up, I only have a month left in halls at university. I have finished my classes for my first year but am just seeing out the last semester and will then be back home for the entire summer! I have taken a few days back home as my brother has moved to Thailand and I wanted to see him, but I return back up to Cheltenham on Tuesday. It will be great spending some time with my uni friends and enjoying the nice weather that seems to have appeared from nowhere. I am so excited to head down to the park and sit in the sunshine and do some writing and maybe read a book. Nothing beats the smell of the summertime; sun cream, cut grass and smoke.

Do you like they way I have styled my biker jacket?

What are you most looking forward to doing in the summer time?

Thanks for reading guys!

P.s I've decided to start posting music I am loving at the moment. I've noticed a few people sharing music on their blog's and it's opened me up to some really amazing bands! So take a listen to the video below...

Summer Style: Keepin' it Coral and Floral

This was an outfit I wore on Holiday to a little fishing town (I have been dying to share it with you all for ages, but couldn't seem to find it!). I absolutely love peachy/coral tones and thought this kaftan styled jacket would look really cute over this floral dress. I loved the way it picked out a shade of coral in the dress so perfectly and thought it just looked a bit different.

Fashion is quite simply all about aesthetic and visual inspiration so I have been pushing myself to create more outfit and style content this Summer. For while, I have been thinking that I spend so much time talking about what I wear and not enough time showing you all. You see, my favourite type of fashion blog is one that provides bright, beautifully bold pictures. Outfit posts, are always what draw me to certain blogs. When I stumble across a new blog, I am searching for an amazing outfit that makes me want to get to know more about the blogger. Consequently, I have decided to set myself some goals. Take my own advice. From now on, every post I create must:

  • Have an eye catching visual element (photos etc)
  • Inspire
  • Create a reaction (whether it be positive or negative)

What goals would you like to set for your blog?
Do you think Fashion blogs need a lot of pictures and visuals?
Do you think photos or text is more important?

Please let me know your thoughts on my outfit, my post and also my questions :)

i'm off to see the planes...

Ever since I can remember, every Summer, my local town holds a big air show called Airbourne. It features planes from the Second World War doing tricks in the sky along the promenade. Thousands flocks to the seafront to watch, some coming from all over England! I haven't been every single year for various reasons, but we headed down their today and it was as magnificent as I always remembered.

[Denim Dress - Newlook, Blouse - Ann Harvey, Leggings - ASOS, Pumps - Newlook, Sunglasses - Dorothy Perkins, Bag - Newlook]
This was the outfit I wore to Airbourne. You may be thinking that you recognise my denim dress. Yes, it featured similarly in my last post but remember two things, one, that was nearly two weeks ago and two, it is the first time I have worn it since! I layered it over a mint green blouse, leggings, pumps and tote. My sunglasses are also new. I bought them for £2 at Dorothy Perkins in the sale (similar ones here).

Below, are some pictures of the beautiful planes on show this weekend. I'm such an ignorant girl when it comes to planes so I can't tell you what any of them are...other than planes of course. My favourite were the two red planes that left such a beautiful smoke trail in the sunshine. They literally danced in the sky and came unbelievably close, close enough to see the wing walkers (if you look close enough). The weather was unusually great and the noise from the jets, as loud as always!

Do you have any similar annual shows, where you live?

Let me know your thought on my pictures as well as my outfit!

Thank you for reading,

D.I.Y - So I made a retro hair band.

I love pretty floral hair bands. The retro look is something I regularly try and recreate! I always used to struggle with keeping hair bands in place and ended up using a million grips that didn't hold. Then they started to bring out these beautiful hair bands that had wire inside to keep it in place and voilà! the problem was solved. Well I really wanted to make my own one so that I could chose the exact material and this weekend I did just that. Here is my little D.I.Y story...

The making process.

The finished piece.

The finished look.

I found this material for 70p in the 'scrap' basket of the material shop and knew I had to finally make my hair band. I then bought some wire to help mould the hair band along with some cotton and needles! It was easy enough to make and only took me an hour. I'm thinking of making another one in the next couple of weeks now that I know what I'm doing. Maybe I will try and make a tutorial if any one is interested?

This was my first real attempt at a bit of D.I.Y, admittedly it was simple but the point was never for it to be complex. It worked out cheaper and most importantly, I have a one of a kind hair band...I think that's pretty cool.

Let me know your thoughts!
What do you think of my home-made hair band??

My Birthday: Part 2

A blurry snap of us all outside the restaurant!

Me opening my presents.
Me and my friend Kristin.
My friends Sammi and Yasmeen.

and Beckie and Katie...
I should start by saying, the pictures weren't taken on my DSLR but on a friends digital camera. I love them though. So on Friday night, me and my friends headed out to a beautiful harbour just a short drive from where we live. In the summer it is booming was tourism but on the scale of other harbours it is pretty small in comparison to others in Europe. Nevertheless, it is a great spot to go for lunch, dinner or drinks. It has a cinema within walking distance so after we ate, we headed over to watch The Hunger Games. I don't want to say too much about this film because I plan to do a post on it within the next week or so. All I will say is that, it is an amazing film that should be seen in the cinema. The narrative of the story is so grand that it would be best seen in a large cinema where it almost feels as if you are another person watching the actual Hunger Games.
(I do not own this image)
This is just a little snap of my new hair cut. I decided to go for something bold and had a big blunt fringe cut in! It is taking a bit of getting used to but it is so nice to have a change...
A snap taken on my iPod :)
Anyway, thank-you to everyone who made my Birthday wonderful and for all the lovely things I was given!

Happy Sunday Everyone! Let me know what you have all been up to this weekend?
