Spring Fling!

This weekend has been great. One of the best this year. After a miserable Easter, in terms of weather, it was paradise to see the sun again and remember what it's like to feel warm. On Saturday (yesterday) me and my friends went to the local zoo for my 20th Birthday. It's a zoo that we all used to go to as kids so it was a bit of a blast from the past, in fact I think we seemed more excited than any of the little children that were visiting. I love these three photos of us all because firstly, I love what we are wearing and secondly, it's so sunny and looks like we are in Barbados as opposed to a little British zoo in the middle of the countryside.

Below is a phone snap of my outfit, you can see my denim shirt and my high-waisted floral skirt a little better, it's just a shame that the quality of the photo isn't as good.

Hope you all had a great weekend! What have you been up to?

My Birthday: Part 2

A blurry snap of us all outside the restaurant!

Me opening my presents.
Me and my friend Kristin.
My friends Sammi and Yasmeen.

and Beckie and Katie...
I should start by saying, the pictures weren't taken on my DSLR but on a friends digital camera. I love them though. So on Friday night, me and my friends headed out to a beautiful harbour just a short drive from where we live. In the summer it is booming was tourism but on the scale of other harbours it is pretty small in comparison to others in Europe. Nevertheless, it is a great spot to go for lunch, dinner or drinks. It has a cinema within walking distance so after we ate, we headed over to watch The Hunger Games. I don't want to say too much about this film because I plan to do a post on it within the next week or so. All I will say is that, it is an amazing film that should be seen in the cinema. The narrative of the story is so grand that it would be best seen in a large cinema where it almost feels as if you are another person watching the actual Hunger Games.
(I do not own this image)
This is just a little snap of my new hair cut. I decided to go for something bold and had a big blunt fringe cut in! It is taking a bit of getting used to but it is so nice to have a change...
A snap taken on my iPod :)
Anyway, thank-you to everyone who made my Birthday wonderful and for all the lovely things I was given!

Happy Sunday Everyone! Let me know what you have all been up to this weekend?

Today, me and two of my best friends headed out in the car to Abbots Wood. It is a beautiful woodland set in the Sussex countryside just a short drive from our town. We laid out our blankets in the warm Spring sun and gobbled down all the food we took with us in our picnic. We have had abnormally warm, sunny weather here at the moment so we decided to make the most out of it. Lazing about in the sun, we caught up, listened to music and played games. Later on in the afternoon we attempted the assault course and went for a stroll through the woods. It was a perfect day.

I really like the outfit I wore today. My new blue floral dress is ideal for Spring and Summer, teamed with leggings and my cardigan kept me warm but still with a Summery edge. I styled my hair messy with two parts pinned up at the sides. You will all have seen my mint coloured pumps on previous outfit posts by hey! they are perfect for kicking about in and match my nail polish and ring so amazingly. This is the exact kind of outfit I love wearing when the days warms up. It is casual, comfortable a little bit glamorous and the dress is insanely versatile.

To make things even more exciting, it is my 19th Birthday tomorrow!! Cannot believe I am nearly 19, 20 next year. Where has all the time gone? Well I will be sure to take a lot of photos of tomorrow and will share them with you next week.

I hope you have all had a wonderfully sunny Sunday today! Let me know what you got up to this weekend...

an adventure in London.

As I mentioned in my last post, I went to London yesterday. It was great. I always stupidly forget how big it is every time I go there though. The more I go to big cities, the more I realise that I am a bit of small town girl. I want to be more of a city girl but honestly? it seriously tired me and my friend out. I know that the more time I spend in cities the easier it will become but it is going to be a big adjustment if I ever move there. When I was in Sydney last year, the city had such a different vibe. To start with it is smaller and less populated but anyone who has been to London and braved travelling in rush hour will tell you that it is kinda like volunteering yourself to get beaten up...on a tiny train miles beneath civilised society. No I am not exaggerating. The risk of getting hit by a taxi goes up about 90% and the feeling of being crushed is frequent. Despite all of this, please do not be put off. It is exciting, vibrant and full of stunning landmarks and beautiful shops. A place that although I do not frequently visit, is everything I have ever aspired to reach.

So we headed up to take some photos, explore London a bit more thoroughly and just have a nice day out. This was our adventure in London.

I am sad to say I never got a picture of my outfit on my camera but my friend may have taken one when I wasn't looking. I wore my leopard print collar black 60's dress with leggings, ankle boots, my new baggy red cardigan and my trusty satchel. I had such a great time just strolling around the city, taking photos and exploring. I hope you like them. I love getting the chance to share my photography on here and use my DSLR for what it was intended - capturing beautiful sights.

Let me know what you think!

Christmas brings people home!

So now that Christmas is fast approaching, all my friends have returned from University. Last night we went out for our Christmas meal and after not seeing some of them for 3-8 months it was a welcomed reunion.
Below are a few snaps of our cosy gathering. As you can see, my friends are pretty fashionable people!

A crap picture of my outfit. I took it in a rush as I was leaving the toilets!
Merry Christmas Everyone!

Hope you all enjoy seeing family and friends again. Better to think about all the people we are being reunited with rather than the people we are still missing!

Let me know what you have been up to recently, always great to hear from you all.

Lacey afternoons.

These are the first of my photos on my blog. I have been so nervous to put them on, worried about bad reviews but then I decided to go for it, how do I know if I'm good or bad if no one ever sees my work. The girl in these photo's is one of my best friends. Unedited. Beckie. T is wearing a cream lace dress from West One with a vintage lace bolero and nude high heels. The look is supposed to suggest a late lazy afternoon, simplified with a 1920's aristocratic glamour. I was obviously going for a Lacey theme. I think it works, and I hope you guys do too.

Please let me know what you think of my photos. Thank you for Reading... or do I mean looking? :)
