Deux Macaron, s'il vous plait?

(Translated: Two Macaroons, please?)

Yesterday, my family and I headed over the English channel to France for the day. To a lot of people, that sounds pretty strange but that is the beauty of Europe right? So many diverse countries just a short drive, boat or plane journey away. So yes we headed over there and ate lots of French cuisine, shopped (will show you guys this week) and explored a place we have been so many times but somehow came across a beautiful hidden beach. Although it was cold, windy and had been raining all morning, the sun broke through the clouds by the late afternoon ready for me to take some photos. I am really happy with how they came out. I hope you guys agree?

Above are two different beaches. A self-portrait of my happy but freezing self and most importantly a picture of my favourite person in the whole world, my little brother Joshua. I thought he looked pretty cool in his blue hoodie. Like me, he loves fashion! He refuses to wear anything boring and likes to stand out. I also feel I should mention that I lost my macaroon virginity. Years of wanting to try one but knowing I had to wait to be in France, I pranced into a beautiful little boulangerie (bakery) yesterday and asked for two macaroons. Chocolate and Pistachio. I have to say, they were delicious.

On a side note: I cannot believe I haven't posted in over a week! Things have been so busy lately but I have a few things to post about from the last week and plenty of things to blog about in the coming weeks.

What did you all get up to at the weekend? Where is your favourite place to go to on a day trip?

Such lovely pictures. Makes me think of going to the Hampton's in early June..one year..It was not warm on the beach at all. Very windy!

Love your jacket and scarf.

I love hidden beaches and always try to find something at least almost hidden when it comes to sunbathing outside my garden. your photos, by the way, are pretty stunning! I'm definitely looking forward to seeing all your purchases!

How cool! Love that foodie picture at the end.

I'm afraid I've been involved in an extensive marathon of Veronica Mars.

Such sweet pictures. Great beach photos too.

Something I've always wanted to try are macaroons.

Lovely photos! I really want to go back to France. Macaroons are delicious, but rather expensive. I first tried them in Paris, and no other macaroon has been able to match the taste since xx

I love day trips especially to beach. There is a place here in my city where I like to go it's always nice to feel the smell of the brize and I must say that I love water! You seem to have spent a good time, you and your brother look like.

Love the pictures! My fav place to go on a day trip is the city where I can soak up mall stores and eat out and then a short drive to Ikea! It's the simple things! Your trip sounds much more exciting!!
