autumn berries in hyde park

fashion and beauty blog, plus size fashion blog, plus size fashion, plus size autumn fashion, hyde park autumn, london, newlook,
A outfit post has been way overdue. Since coming back to uni I haven't done one properly (I don't count a mirror snap of my pyjamas as an outfit post). This is mostly due to the fact that I have no photographer which makes things a little more complicated! Anyway, on Saturday I caught the train to London to meet my parents and my little brother and we spent the day exploring Hyde Park and seeing the sights of the city. Growing up living reasonably close to London, I've seen them all so many times but for some reason they never get less exciting. Had I not been with my family and I probably would've headed down Oxford Street to check out all the updates that have been going on. I keep hearing of new stores and places being done up and, yeah, I really don't need an excuse to go shopping anyway but what a great reason, right? So, on Saturday, when we merely drove past Marble Arch, I had to avert my eyes.

I don't usualy write about my outfit in outfit posts but I really loved this outfit. It was so comfortable for travelling to and exploring a city but I also felt that it was a little unusual for me. Recently I've been dying to get a long cardigan and after a lot of searching I finally found this one in New Look. I love the length and how cosy it feels when layered up. The bag and scarf were a really impromptu buy. I was browsing around the bag section looking for a purple tote and then I saw the bag. Its quite an unusual bag for me to buy. For starters it is very colourful, it's a rucksack and it's a little boxy but I just fell in love with it. Then I saw the scarf and god, I don't know if they were designed to be worn together but I couldn't buy one without the other.

But besides all of that, this outfit felt so wonderfully autumny. The big scarf. Knitwear. Berry colours, Dark lipstick. Crunchy leaves at my feet. It's just my heaven.

little autumn buys

Fashion bloggers love autumn.
I am no exception.
I love the berry pinks and reds and purples. The burnt oranges and golds and coppers.
I love the big scarves. Fluffy socks. Ankle boots.
Crunchy leaves and naked trees.

Today I went shopping and found some amazing little autumn buys. I was gonna take actual photos of them but the lighting in my room was crap so I decide to look them up online and share it on here with y'all!

What've you been buying for your new autumn wardrobe?

Anyone else in love with the berry colours that seem to be everywhere at the moment?

goodbye summer

Summer has really gone. Despite the sunny weather it's suddenly got cold and I have no ideas as to how we are already nearly at the end of September?
I feel a little sad when I think back to my summer this year. Sad in an overly nostalgic kind of way. I think about my new summer dresses, the smell of sun cream in the streets, eating ice cream and drinking cocktails and going swimming. But all good things come to an end and I thought I'd quite like to look back at some of my favourite outfits from the last few months. I thought that'd be a nice little send off. Farewell summer! It's all autumn from here on...

a big catch up

It's been a while. Yes, I broke my schedule. I feel bad about it but honestly I had nothing to post about on here. I'm not sure this counts as much but I felt like I needed to write it. Give y'all a little update as to what's changed since I last blogged.

I've returned to uni.

I'm in a new house with people I like.

I live (in what sounds like a sitcom) with two men and a dog called Larry.

I have a Hogwarts jumper that I plan to spend all Autumn in (see silly pics of me below wearing it with my pjys!)

I now spend a large amount of time worrying about my dissertation and what I'm gonna do.

On my first day back, I, literally, fell off a bench...in public (my friend snapchatted the pic at the top to me).

I've started wearing my Autumn wardrobe although I need some more clothes!

I've started swimming.

I got a membership to make myself go.

I now start the day with peppermint tea.

I'm using hair oil for my bleached ends!

I watched the first series of Gavin and Stacey in an evening.

I've began to watch the eighth series of Doctor Who.

After ordering Dirty Dancing on Amazon two years ago (and it never arriving), I finally bought it in Tesco.

I finally finished The Book Thief (it was amazing!)

I hung funny pompom things in my room.

I covered one of my walls in 1930s travel pictures.

I temporarily became a vegetarian for 16 days but now I'm back to meat.

I tried a fig...

and I hated it.

So yes, I am back at uni now so I may miss the occasional post but I will definitely try and keep to my schedule! Another big problem I have is that I have no photographer here which concerns me. I don't wanna overly do the whole mirror snap thing so maybe I'll buy a tripod and take the pictures in my garden when my house mates are out.

Anyway let me know what you've been up to!

plus size fashion blog, fashion and beauty blog, bills, bills afternoon tea

I still have some holiday photos to post but I thought I'd take a break from them and show you an outfit I wore on Tuesday when I went out with my mum, my little brother. It was really nice to go out, just us three, and make the most of the sunshine. We did a bit of shopping (and I got the most beautiful dogtooth blanket jacket from Debenhams!) and then headed over to my favourite restaurant, Bills, for a spot of afternoon tea. Needless to say I drunk my bodyweight in early grey.

I'm a little obsessed with midi skirts at the moment and as the weather is still summery here, I decided to style my favourite blush skirt with just a light grey and black tee. I love the combination of grey and pink together. There's something lovely and romantic about it. Usually I'm not a massive fan of pink but I love blush and nude tones. Although they're still quite girly, they just seem a little more tasteful than pink (I'm really not a fan of those garish fuchsias and overly bright reddy pinks everyone seems to love). I decided to add in a slouchy black bag to accentuate the black print on the top and just slightly toughen the outfit up. This is quite a normal 'just going out shopping' look for me. I seem to live in a state of dressy-casual. Anyone else have this problem?

On a side note, I head back to uni today. This evening my parents are driving me back and we're all staying over at my new house until Sunday. It's gonna be strange getting back into uni work and even stranger not seeing them (my family) everyday but thankfully I have a good even balance of nerves and excitement!

Happy Friday!

What are you all up to this weekend?
