I still have some holiday photos to post but I thought I'd take a break from them and show you an outfit I wore on Tuesday when I went out with my mum, my little brother. It was really nice to go out, just us three, and make the most of the sunshine. We did a bit of shopping (and I got the most beautiful dogtooth blanket jacket from Debenhams!) and then headed over to my favourite restaurant, Bills, for a spot of afternoon tea. Needless to say I drunk my bodyweight in early grey.

I'm a little obsessed with midi skirts at the moment and as the weather is still summery here, I decided to style my favourite blush skirt with just a light grey and black tee. I love the combination of grey and pink together. There's something lovely and romantic about it. Usually I'm not a massive fan of pink but I love blush and nude tones. Although they're still quite girly, they just seem a little more tasteful than pink (I'm really not a fan of those garish fuchsias and overly bright reddy pinks everyone seems to love). I decided to add in a slouchy black bag to accentuate the black print on the top and just slightly toughen the outfit up. This is quite a normal 'just going out shopping' look for me. I seem to live in a state of dressy-casual. Anyone else have this problem?

On a side note, I head back to uni today. This evening my parents are driving me back and we're all staying over at my new house until Sunday. It's gonna be strange getting back into uni work and even stranger not seeing them (my family) everyday but thankfully I have a good even balance of nerves and excitement!

Happy Friday!

What are you all up to this weekend?

pebbles, piers and pink skies.

HAPPY MARCH EVERYONE!
(This month I turn 21)

So I haven't been back home since the Christmas holiday. That's seven weeks since I've slept in my lovely comfy double bed. Seven weeks since I've had a decent shower (my student shower sucks!) but most importantly, seven whole painful weeks since I've been by the sea. Growing up on the coast makes you form a certain attachment with it. You yearn for it when you're away. It's like a breathing thing. Pulling up to the seafront, I put the window down and took a deep breath of lovely fresh sea air. My lungs started to work again.

Anyway, I'm only back for a few days but I'm planning to make the most of it. Today we went to Brighton and had a late lunch beside the seafront. It would've been nice to go for a walk but it was crazily cold so  instead we went down to the beach and took some photos of the pebbles and the pier and the beautiful pink sky. I also managed to get my reluctant father to take a couple of snaps of my outfit. As you can see, I am wearing a mint green jumper. I am currently really into my pastels and so excited to wear lovely spring colours when the weather perks up and the heat rises above freezing here. Below are the details of my outfit. I am so ashamed of my obvious Newlook obsession. Don't judge.

[Jacket, Skirt, Jumper, Leggings, Boots - All Newlook, Necklace and scarf - Accesorise, Gloves- Matalan]

Anyway, let me know what you think of my outfit, my pictures and if you live by the sea, do you long for it when you're away or am I just crazy?

P.s as you may, or may not, have noticed, the quality of my pictures aren't quite as good as normal. That's because I stupidly forgot my lovely DSLR and instead had to use my mums rather good, but not as good, digital camera.

antiques.

[Leggings, Skirt, Jacket, Boots and Bag - (all) Newlook, Socks - Next, Jumper - George, Snood - Accessorise]

Above is me (excuse my crazy windswept hair). Here is a typical outfit of mine at the moment. Layers, a snood and my new heeled boots. You know, these boots have taught me something. Just a bit of extra height is good for a girl. You walk a little taller even if the heel is only an inch or two. Good for the soul and all that. I'm gonna abandon my flats for a bit cause I'm bored of feeling short.

While my family visited me this weekend, we found this beautiful little antique shop at the docks in Gloucester.  It was a great place to explore. I love vintage and antiques and nothing is more exciting than digging through beautiful old things and trying to write them a past. Who owned them? Who's used them? How did they make it here? That sounds pretentious but I guess it's the writer in me. Well anyway, I came away with a 1930's Vintage Brownie Kodak camera. So cool it deserves, and will get, a post of its own. Now just to work out how to use it and then I can post my photo results on here.

Anyway, here are some of the photos I took whilst exploring the shop!

Leave me a nice comment below? It doesn't even have to be related to this post. I just like reading what you have to say!

Happy Tuesday Guys :)

That's SO 2013.

Inspired from a post on Georgina's blog, Cupcake's Clothes, I thought it'd be nice to reflect on some of my favourite outfits over the last 12 months. I decided to go through and pick my top five. I chose the outfits below because I felt like they best reflected my style and it's diversity but also, because I really enjoyed wearing them.

Happy 2014 Guys...
May this year make all your fashion dreams come true!

Winter Wardrobe #3 Outfit

As promised, I wanted to show you guys what I am wearing over the festive period. It's a shame that the background is lacking. I wish I could present you with an England that has bright blue skies and power fresh fallen snow. Sadly in reality, it has been wet, windy, cold apart from Boxing Day which was beautiful...hence the pictures I took below on a seaside stroll with my Dad.
I really liked this outfit (although I wish the pictures were more exciting) and I love this jumper. It is so soft and looks a lot more expensive than it actually is. Would you believe me if I told you it was only £16? I decided to dig out my body-con jersey skirt to team it with and then added tights, boots, my leather jacket  and a scarf to match my dark red lipsticks.
This ensemble keeps my dry, warm

Skirt - Asos
Tights - Primark
Jumper - George
Boots and jacket - Newlook
Scarf - a friends (...I really should return it!)
Watch - Fossil
Lipstick - Revlon

What are you wearing to survive this horrendous season, or are you lucky enough to live somewhere nice and warm/actually snowy and wintery?

St. Tropez, Daaarlings!

I have always wanted to visit Saint Tropez. I imagined it to be hot and sunny, filled with immaculately dressed people and beautiful shops and restaurants. It's nice to be able to see that it actually met my expectations. It was an amazing place to explore and an even more exciting place to capture with my camera. The highlight had to be walking down a long sunny street with all of the extravagant designer shops lining the sides. Dior. Dolce and Gabbana. Louie Vuitton. I could go on.The picture above is the Dior restaurant that I passed. Before my trip, I didn't know that a Dior restaurant even existed. It was one of the most beautiful restaurants I've seen (like something from a movie, set in the twenties) and part of me was desperate to stroll in and order myself a glass of champagne but I didn't feel dressed for the occasion, nor did I have the money to justify it. Below is the outfit I wore (Skirt - Next, Flip flops - Havaianas, Blouse - H&M, Hat - H&M, Bag - H&M, Sunnies - H&M). I needed something cool to wear as the temperature was creeping just over the 30 degree mark that day and the only place to escape the sun was in an overpriced restaurant or bar.
I saw this dress in a D&G campaign in my ELLE magazine and then spotted it while strolling around the shops in St. Tropez. The moment I saw it, I was mesmerised. I love the rich red colour and couldn't take my eyes away from the outstanding detail. I rarely see something I like this much so seeing it in the flesh was really exciting for me and so I obviously had to take a photo of it to share with you guys! Anyway, here are a few more photos of my trip to St. Tropez. These were taken on the boat trip we took around the harbour.
It's really strange looking back at these photos. Especially as in a few days I head back to uni and have to leave my family again. It's nice to know I've spent some quality time with them all and even nicer having these pictures to remind me of that.
Let me know your thoughts on anything and everything to do with this post!

Thanks for reading,

denim days

Today I decided to wear a very denim inspired outfit, teaming my denim coloured skater dress with my denim shirt and denim coloured shoes. To add an edge I wore my spiky gold necklace and bangles. I also wore my favourite black cat-eye sunnies and put my hair into a messy side fish-tail plait. It was one of those days that was warm but became suddenly very chilly so I was a little puzzled as to what I should wear. Dare I admit that everything I am wearing here is from Newlook...maybe I'll just keep it a secret.

It is a month and a half until I go away on holiday to the south of France, so at the moment I am attempting to build up some more summer clothes. I am so excited to get away and enjoy some sunshine. We do not get enough in this part of the world. I think I am suffering from a vitamin D deficiency. It'll be lovely to go to the beach and pool and drink cocktails and just relax.

A little catch up? Well as you know, I have been back from uni for a few weeks now and have just been doing home-y things like meeting with friends, going for walks, reading and making new recipes for dinner. Last night, me and two of my friends went to a park near the seafront to watch an out door showing of Glastonbury. It was a nice evening but very Eastbourne-y. That's that only way I can describe it. Here is a picture I took last night that I thought was pretty cool.

What have you been up to? Are you going anywhere exciting on holiday this year?

P.S Below is one of the bands we were listening to last night that I really liked and You Tubed when I got home -
